Grace Kovach, 90, Of Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Grace Irene Kovach, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 21 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was 90.
Kovach was born in Portage, Pa., to John and Anna Kovach, working for Dictaphone for many years and retiring from Sikorsky Aircraft.
She was predeceased by her parents, and is survived by nephew and caregiver Stephen J. Toma and his wife Jill of Monroe, nephew Bruce Grugett and his wife Alicia of Florida; and niece Sheila Karas and her husband Glen of Michigan.

John A. (Jack) Howe, 89, Lifelong Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – John A. (Jack) Howe, a lifelong Bridgeport resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 20. He was 89.
Howe was born to Edward and Mary McCarthy Howe, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After his service, he founded and operated the John A. Howe Agency, handling real estate and insurance.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Marion, brother William and sister Rita Auger.
Howe is survived by two children, son David and his companion Elizabeth O'Neil, daughter Barbara Thomas and her husband Wallace of Monroe, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Alice Lupien, 91, Of Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Alice Genevieve Lupien, of Bridgeport, died on Tuesday, Oct. 20. She was 91.
Lupien was born on Aug. 6, 1924, in Meriden to Edgar and Hermina Dessureau Lupien.
She graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport.
She served in the Navy during World War II and worked in administrative support positions in health care, as an editor for various magazines and as an Advertising Production Manager for NAED.
Lupien was predeceased by her two sisters, Mary Agnes Lupien Gawitt and Helen Lupien Pivirotto.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jean Marie Hessmer, of Stamford, died Oct. 21. She was 47.
Hessmer was born Feb. 29, 1968, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Joan Hessmer, living in Glenview, Ill. and Darien.
She graduated from Darien High School and Marymount University in Arlington, Va., with a degree in business administration.
Hessmer worked as a group director for Tiffany & Co. in licensing, fragrance and eyewear, along with previously working with Tom Ford Beauty, Estée Lauder Inc., Donna Karan Cosmetics, Calvin Klein Cosmetics, a division of Unilever Prestige and Lancôme.

DARIEN, Conn. – William Robert Golden Jr., of Darien, died Wednesday, Oct. 21. He was 68.
Golden was born Oct. 24, 1946, in Everett, Mass. to William Robert and Edna Hahesy Golden.
He graduated from Boston College High School in 1964 and Boston College in 1968 before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served for three years.
After his service, he graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, becoming a partner at Kelley Drye and Warren LLP for 27 years.

White was born in Cuba on Feb. 7, 1926. She immigrated to Jamaica when she was 4 and moved to Stamford 47 years ago.
