Edward Joseph Gronek, 93, Of Rochelle Park
ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. – Edward Joseph Gronek, of Rochelle Park, died Monday, Oct. 19 at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Paramus. He was 93.
Gronek was born in Garfield, and lived in Lodi before moving to Rochelle Park.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, earning the Philippine Liberation Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with the Bronze Stars and the American Theater Victory Medal.
After his service, he worked as an assembly machinist for Sun Chemical Company in Rutherford, retiring in 1984.

Learn To Skate Program At Wayne Township Parks And Rec
WAYNE, N.J. – The Wayne Township Parks And Recreation Department is taking registration for a nine-week "Learn To Skate" program from Monday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, March 19.
Classes are for kindergartners through eighth-graders, with half-hour classes set for Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays. A half-hour free skate follows each session.
Registration is $142, not including skate rental ($3 per session, with discount cards available)

Florine Popper, 81, Of Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. – Florine Popper, of Stamford, died on Sunday, Oct. 18, of a rare brain disease. She was 81.
Popper graduated from Hunter College, and was a former teacher and antique dealer.
She is survived by her husband James; her children and their spouses, Jeffrey and Lisa, William and Linda; and six grandchildren.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Alice N. Kelly, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Monday, Oct. 19 at Stamford Hospital. She was 92.
Kelly was born April 21, 1923, in Stamford, to Cesare and Lucille Tonazzi Nosenzo.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband James, sister Elizabeth "Betty" Baker and brother Julian "Duke" Nosenzo.
Kelly is survived by four children, daughters Elizabeth and Eileen, son Kevin and his wife Patricia, son David and his wife MaryEllen, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Gilbert Rosa, Sr., of Bridgeport, died Oct. 19 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was 84.
Rosa was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico to Pedro and Isabel Rosa.
He was predeceased by his sons Peter and Manuel, and is survived by his wife Dora, four children, son Gilbert Jr., daughter Carmen, daughter Jenny Alicea and her husband Ricardo, and Sam, along with many other relatives and close friends.
