Edward Parker, 98, Of Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Edward E. Parker Sr., a longtime Fairfield resident, died Monday, Oct. 5. He was 98.
Parker was a veteran of World War II, serving in France, Germany, North Africa, Sicily and the island of Corsica under General Patton and participating in the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp.
He was predeceased by his wife Esther, granddaughter Amy and sister Betty.
Parker is survived by his son Ted, daughter Janis, granddaughter Allison and grandsons Christopher Francis and Jaime, three great grandchildren, Samantha, Ryan, and Maris and his brother Ken.

Olivia Vlahos, 91, Of Westport
WESTPORT, Conn. — Olivia Vlahos, a longtime resident of Westport, died Aug. 26 at her home. She was 91.
Vlahos was born Jan. 8, 1924, working as a young actress for Interstate Players in Texas and for the USO.
While with the USO, she attended the University of Texas-Houston, and went on to earn a master's degree in anthropology at Sarah Lawrence College.
Vlahos became a professor of anthropology and sociology at Norwalk Community College, helping to create a certificate program in archaeology. She was honored with the creation of an annual scholarship at the school in 1991.

Margaret "Peggy" Brenton, 76, Of Southport
SOUTHPORT, Conn. — Margaret “Peggy” Brenton, of Southport, died Oct. 4, surrounded by her family after battling cancer. She was 76.
Brenton was born Dec. 9, 1938 to William and Kathryn Ryan of Stratford, graduating from Lauralton Hall in Milford and St. Joseph's College in Hartford.
She ran a successful, full-service interior design firm for 20 years and was an active member of the community.
Brenton was predeceased by her husband John and brother Timothy William Ryan.

Nona B. Fazekas, 95, Of Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. — Nona B. Fazekas, of Norwalk, died of natural causes Friday, Oct. 2 at her home. She was 95.
Fazekas was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Coleman, Okla., to Rosa Alexander and Wayne L. Baker.
She worked as an instrument maker at Kaplan’s of Rowayton, was a manager at Bradlees Department Store and was an active member of the AFL-CIO.
Fazekas was predeceased by her husband Frank.
She is survived by three sons; Michael of Menomonee Falls, Wisc.; John of Stamford, Mark of Norwalk, and daughter Joan Griffith and her husband Jeffery of Greensboro, N.C.
