Virginia Rose Nielsen, 93, Of Lodi
LODI, N.J. — Virginia Rose Nielsen (nee Scelzo), of Lodi, died Friday, Oct. 2. She was 93.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thorwald. She is survived by two daughters, Angela and her husband, Richard Nielsen-Gugliotta, of Saddle Brook, and Louise and her husband, Scott Savage, of Harrington Park; six grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Scelzo of Lodi.
A funeral mass will be Monday, Oct. 5, at 9:30 a.m. at the Alesso Funeral Home, 91 Union St., Lodi.
A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook.
Cremation will be private.

Betty Reilly, 91, Of Fair Lawn
FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Betty Reilly (nee Schulte), of Fair Lawn, died Monday, Sept. 28. She was 91.
She worked as a payroll supervisor for Bergen County before retirement.
Reilly was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Theresa Schulte; her husband, Edward, and brother Paul Schulte.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Koppenal and her husband John, daughter Diane Masterson and her husband Thomas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

George Van Ausdall III, 84, Of Montvale
MONTVALE, N.J. — George Van Ausdall III, of Montvale and formerly of Deer Park, N.Y. and Haworth, died Tuesday, Sept. 29. He was 84.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and worked for the Seim family of Rye, N.Y., and Oslo, Norway, for over 50 years in varying capacities, including serving as vice president of finance of Wallenius Lines of Woodcliff Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Grace (nee Gallagher); two sons George IV and his wife, Susan, of Bridgewater, and David of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Vicki, of Alameda, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

LODI, N.J. — James "Jim" Zito, of Lodi, died Tuesday, Sept. 29. He was 81.
Zito was born in Hasbrouck Heights to James and Florence Zito, and was a lifelong resident of Lodi. He retired as a personnel and benefits manager for ITT-Federal Electric Corp. in Paramus after 30 years.
Zito was predeceased by his parents, James and Florence; his wife, Virginia "Jini" (nee Burke); and brother Vincent.

RIDGEFIELD, N.J.. — Peter P. Mastrangelo, of Ridgefield, died Monday, Sept. 28. He was 74.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy; a daughter, RoseAnn Redfern and her husband Michael and a son, Peter and his wife, Tina, all of Fair Lawn; and five grandchildren.
Mastrangelo was a short order cook for many years at Plaza Market, Park 80 West in Saddle Brook.

GARFIELD, N.J. — Louise G. Sciacchetano, of Garfield, died on Sept. 30 at her home in Pompton Plains. She was 95.
She was born in Garfield, and was predeceased by husband Louis and her daughter Lorraine Dowdell.
Sciacchetano is survived by her son Lawrence and daughter-in-law Kathy; son Louis and fiancée Michelle; sister Helen; sister Connie, brother Victor, brother Bobby, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. — Janet R. Jacobsen, of Bergenfield, died Monday, Sept. 28. She was 92.
Jacobsen was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Yonkers, N.Y. to Seth and Eva Remington Belknap, graduating from Northfield Seminary located in Massachusetts.
After high school, she worked in the office of the New York Central Railroad in New York City, and later at Parents Magazine in Bergenfield.
