Luann B. Bucci, 62, Of Dobbs Ferry DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. — Luann B. Bucci, of Dobbs Ferry, died Oct. 3. She was 62. Bucci was born in Bronxville to Henry and Joan Bucci, graduating from the Grasslands School of Nursing at the Westchester Medical Center. She worked as a registered nurse for Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, the County of Westchester at the Medical Center and also the Department of Corrections. Bucci is survived by her sister Donna, close friends and three godchildren. Visiting hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday  at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry, with services at 8 p.m.

Stamford Hedge Fund Shuts Down After European Investments Go South STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford-based hedge fund Meehan Combs will shut down at month's end after its European investments went bad, reported the Wall Street Journal. The fund, launched in March 2013, has seen its value fall by a third after a peak value of $300 million last year. After clients asked to redeem about half the fund's capital, management led by president Eli Combs decided to shut down at the end of the month, according to the Wall Street Journal. Prescription Drug Prices Twice As High For Americans Than Europeans WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — A new report from the University of Liverpool says that American cancer patients are paying more than 600 times the European price for certain prescription drugs, the Huffington Post reported. The drugs in question are known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), pills with fewer side effects than chemotherapy treatments. Pharmacologist Andrew Hill found that European prices can range from over $150 to $4,000 per person, compared to a range of $75,000 to $100,000 per person in America, reported the Huffington Post.
