The keynote speaker at “Geriatric Trauma: A Growing Epidemic” will be Ronnie Rosenthal, surgical service chief for the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Sister Catherine Jemapete, 89, Of Wilton WILTON, Conn. — Sister Catherine Jemapete, of Wilton, died on Sept. 26 at Lourdes Health Care Center. She was 89. Jemapete was born on April 28, 1926, in Bridgeport to Spyridion Jemapete and Theresa Gabor. She joined the School Sister of Notre Dame in 1950, and taught at Catholic schools in Rochester, N.Y., Charleston, S.C., Norwalk and Darien until 1970. From there, Jemapete ran Religious Education programs in Ridgefield, Wilton, Waterbury, and Fairfield until retiring in 2001. She was predeceased by her parents. Timothy Ford Sr., 83, Of Teaneck TEANECK, N.J. — Timothy Ford Sr., of Teaneck and formerly of the Bronx, N.Y., died Wednesday, Sept. 23. He was 83. He worked as a foreman for The New York Times before retirement. Ford was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette (nee Hickey); and siblings Frances, William, and Martin. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Jr. and Michael and his girlfriend, Rebecca; as well as siblings Margaret, Mary, and James. The Volk Leber Funeral Home handled arrangements, and interment was at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

Torchia was born March 10, 1916, in New York City to Gerasimos and Marigoula Kai Boyiantzis. She graduated from Wadleigh High School in Harlem, N.Y. and later moved to Park Ridge in 1951. Torchia earned her nursing degree at 55 from Bergen Community College, working as a private nurse for Valley Hospital in Ridgewood until her retirement.
