Patterson Woman, 24, Faces Drug Charges PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – A Patterson woman is facing drug charges after being arrested with a hypodermic needle overnight on Sept. 9, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Michele Finer, 24, was arrested after a deputy sheriff responded to a call of a woman using a hypodermic needle to inject drugs in the parking lot of Sauro's Deli in Patterson around 12:30 a.m. Finer was spotted walking along Route 311 near Route 292, and it was determined that she carried various controlled substances, marijuana and a hypodermic needle, according to authorities. Judge Tells A&P To Divert Managers' Incentive Pay For Severance U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Drain suggested that a chunk of incentive pay set aside for managers of the A&P supermarket chain be diverted to severance pay for all of the employees, reports the Poughkeepsie Journal. Drain felt that $1.1 million of the $5 million fund should be diverted towards roughly 25,000 workers. The judge was quoted as saying that he was being asked to 'poke [each worker] in the eye' if he approved the $5 million fund, according to the Journal. Man, 26, Charged With Dwai After Route 312 Crash SOUTHEAST, N.Y. – A Southeast man was arrested on driving while ability impaired charges after an auto accident Aug. 31 along Route 312, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said. Joseph Defiore, 26, was charged after a deputy said he determined Defiore had been driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Defiore was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors, the DWAI charge and reckless driving, the department said. Defiore is scheduled to appear Sept. 22 in Southeast Town Court. He faces up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000 on each charge.
