Bridgeport Man Gets Nine Years In Prison For Drug Scheme BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A 26-year old Bridgeport man was sentenced Wednesday to nine years in federal prison for his role in a drug robbery scheme. Nelson Diaz was arrested by ATF agents in April 2014 for attempting to mount an armed robbery of a drug house in Bridgeport, according to the U.S. attorney's office. Diaz's arrest was part of “Operation Samson,” an initiative by the ATF, Bridgeport and Fairfield police departments to crack down on violent criminals, illegal firearm possession and firearm trafficking. Westport's Church Lane Closed Friday For Concrete Pouring WESTPORT, Conn. – The Town of Westport has announced that early morning construction will be taking place at Bedford Square on Friday morning, closing a large part of Church Lane to begin concrete pouring. The section of Church Lane to be closed off is from the intersection at Elm Street to Post Road East, starting at around 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via Elm Street as well.
