Man Charged After Second Sears Shoplift Attempt In Week YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – A Peekskill man was arrested on two counts of larceny Monday after attempting to shoplift at the Sears store in Yorktown for the second time in less than a week. 67-year old Oscar Jackson was arrested on charges of petit larceny and fourth-degree grand larceny on Monday, as he attempted to leave Sears without paying for items. Security also identified Jackson as the man who allegedly left the store on Aug. 20 with over $1,000 of items without paying. Jackson was remanded to Westchester County Jail, with an appearance date in court on Sep. 10.

Owner Of Mystic Pizza Gets Prison Time For Tax Evasion BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – John Zelepos, owner of Mystic Pizza, the Connecticut pizzeria that inspired the 1988 film that launched Julia Roberts' career, was sentenced Monday to a year in federal prison for tax evasion. Zelepos, a resident of North Stonington, will also pay a $25,000 fine, forfeit more than $500,000, pay back taxes with interest and be under supervised release for three years after his prison term. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Thomas and son Tom. Kubicek is survived by son John, daughter Nancy and her husband Phil Sikora, and grandson Tom. Garfield Library Helps Create Future Customers GARFIELD, N.J. – The Garfield Library is laying the groundwork for new customers by announcing that educational program ABC Mouse will now be free to young library visitors. Kids from ages two to six can use the program free of charge at the library. The critically lauded program uses a curriculum designed for pre-k students, preschoolers, kindergarteners and up. More than 3,500 individual learning activities and 450 lessons are available to choose from.
