Mary Poccia, 80, Of Mamaroneck
MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mary Poccia, a lifetime Mamaroneck resident, died on Monday, Aug. 24. She was 80.
Poccia was born on April 7, 1935, to Salvatore and Vincenza nee Gironda Piacente.
She worked as a secretary to the manager of Westchester Joint Water Works.
Poccia was an active member of the community, serving with the Red Hat Society, the Mamaroneck Women's Club and the Mamaroneck Public Library, and attended St. Vito's Roman Catholic Church.

Owner Of Mystic Pizza Gets Prison Time For Tax Evasion
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – John Zelepos, owner of Mystic Pizza, the Connecticut pizzeria that inspired the 1988 film that launched Julia Roberts' career, was sentenced Monday to a year in federal prison for tax evasion.
Zelepos, a resident of North Stonington, will also pay a $25,000 fine, forfeit more than $500,000, pay back taxes with interest and be under supervised release for three years after his prison term.

Pauline Kubicek, 88, Of Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. – Pauline Kubicek, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Aug. 23 of dementia. She was 88.
Kubicek was born on May 20, 1927 to William and Marie Madarash.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Thomas and son Tom.
Kubicek is survived by son John, daughter Nancy and her husband Phil Sikora, and grandson Tom.

Mount Kisco's Grand Prix Launching Dance, Music, Arts Classes
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Grand Prix New York (GPNY), based in Mount Kisco, will launch a series of Spins Music & Arts classes for young children in September.
The classes are designed for those up to six years old, and is part of GPNY's list of entertainment options for all ages. Options include indoor go-karts, spins bowl, an arcade, arts garage, a bouncy castle and the Fuel restaurant.
